A great test of golf in stunning surroundings.

In a wonderful Lakeland setting and sheltered by the Vercors and Chartreuse mountains, Charmeil creates its own micro-climate, enabling golf to be played all year round in ideal conditions. Hence the choice of Charmeil for the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School which took place in November 2002.
After a rotten shot you can always console yourself with the scenery.

An ideal backdrop for renowned architect Jeremy Pern who has created a challenging test of golf, yet in perfect harmony with its natural environment. Being flat Charmeil is an ideal walkers course and the rolling fairways will lead you around sparkling lakes and lagoons, through forests of oak and pine to the 18th. Green which sits invitingly in front of the club-house.
About the golf course
The 6715 yard Par 73 course is rated in the top twenty in France and provides a tough yet fair test of golf for players of all levels. The well-groomed fairways are rich and varied. Some wide and tree-lined, some not so wide, some skirting Lake Charmeil and the odd dog-leg for good measure. The four par-threes are no pushover and you will find the greens fast and true.
The end of a great day golf.

My favourite hole : the 18th. Although well guarded by the lake on the right there is a birdie opportunity for the brave and its just a stones throw from the 19th.
